Two weeks ago, Amina, 11, had never opened a code editor. Today her friends beg her to let them play her game at lunch.
She started with the Scratch track โ just 20 minutes after school, three times a week. "The hardest part wasn't the coding," she says, "it was deciding what my game should even be about."
Her first version barely worked โ the character fell through the floor constantly. Instead of giving up, she asked in the weekly Code Club call, and a mentor showed her how collision blocks work.
By day 14, she had a working platformer with three levels, a scoreboard, and sound effects she recorded with her own voice.
"Now my friends at school want to join too," she says. If Amina can go from zero to a finished game in two weeks, so can you โ start with the Scratch track today.
